Construction of the Simpani Health Post in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-09, Lamjung, continues to move forward, bringing the project another step closer to providing a permanent health facility for the local community.
From 30 September to 4 October 2026, Himalayan Quests Foundation (HQF) conducted a field monitoring visit to the construction site to review progress, assess the quality of ongoing works and coordinate with the contractor, construction workers, technical personnel and community representatives.

Moving up to the second floor
During the visit, the team found that several important stages of the structure had been completed.
Reinforcement works for the supervised structural elements have been completed, and the first-floor slab has now been cast. Work has also begun on the columns for the second floor, marking another visible stage in the development of the health post.
The newly cast slab requires an approximately 18-day curing period before the next stage of construction can proceed. During this time, the site will continue to be monitored to ensure the structure is properly maintained and the required curing process is followed.
The contractor has confirmed that they are prepared to continue with the next phase once the curing period is complete, with the project currently remaining on schedule.

Keeping the project on track
Field visits such as this are an important part of HQF’s approach to managing and monitoring its community projects. Beyond checking physical progress, they provide an opportunity to speak directly with the people involved in the construction and understand how work is progressing on the ground.
During this visit, the monitoring team met with the contractor, construction workers, technical personnel and community leaders. The team also reviewed completed and ongoing structural works against the approved drawings and construction schedule.
The next monitoring visit is planned following the curing period, when the team will assess the site before the second-floor slab casting takes place.

Looking ahead
There is still work ahead before the Simpani Health Post is ready to serve the community, but the progress made so far is encouraging. With the contractor on track and continued monitoring throughout the construction process, the project is steadily moving towards completion.
For HQF, this health post represents more than a construction project. It is part of a longer-term commitment to supporting access to essential healthcare in communities where local facilities can make a meaningful difference.
We’ll continue to share updates as construction progresses.
